Is Gangnam Style the most famous song in US?

Gangnam Style is a 2012 K-pop song by South Korean rapper Psy. It became the first YouTube video to surpass one billion views, and was listed as the most viewed video on the site for five years, until it was surpassed by "See You Again" in 2017. Despite its global popularity, it did not achieve the same level of success in the US as in other parts of the world, where it topped charts in many countries. In the US, "Gangnam Style" peaked at number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 2012, behind Carly Rae Jepsen's "Call Me Maybe". It remained in the top 10 for seven weeks, and was certified quadruple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). However, it was not the most famous song in the US in 2012. That year, the top-selling song was "Thrift Shop" by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, featuring Wanz.
