What do AM waves and FM have in common?

Both AM waves and FM waves are types of radio waves. They are both used for communication, and they both travel through the air. AM waves are amplitude modulated, which means that the amplitude of the wave is varied to represent the information being transmitted. FM waves are frequency modulated, which means that the frequency of the wave is varied to represent the information being transmitted. Both AM and FM waves can be used for voice and music transmission, but FM waves are generally considered to be higher quality than AM waves.
