You will need:
* A Phillips head screwdriver
* A flat head screwdriver
* A soldering iron
* Solder
* A pair of wire cutters
* A pair of pliers
* A new set of pickups
2. Remove the strings from your guitar.
This will make it easier to work on the guitar and prevent damage to the strings or the guitar.
3. Remove the pickguard.
The pickguard is the plastic or metal plate that covers the pickups and controls. It is usually held in place with screws or clips.
4. Disconnect the pickups from the wiring.
There will be two wires soldered to each pickup, one for the hot connection and one for the ground connection. Use the soldering iron to melt the solder and remove the wires.
5. Remove the pickups from the guitar body.
The pickups are usually held in place with screws or springs. Use the Phillips head screwdriver to remove the screws, and then gently pry the pickups out of the body.
6. Install the new pickups.
Place the new pickups in the body and secure them with the screws.
7. Solder the pickups to the wiring.
Solder the hot wire from each pickup to the hot wire on the volume control. Solder the ground wire from each pickup to the ground wire on the volume control.
8. Replace the pickguard.
Replace the pickguard and secure it with the screws or clips.
9. Replace the strings.
Replace the strings and tune the guitar.
10. Test the pickups.
Plug in your guitar and turn on the amplifier. Play each string and check that the pickups are working properly.
