How did the Bon Jovi band start?
Jon Bon Jovi formed the band with childhood friend David Bryan in Sayreville, New Jersey, in 1983. Their original bass player Alec John Such and drummer Tico Torres, along with guitarist Richie Sambora, completed the founding lineup of Bon Jovi, who took the name Jon Bon Jovi & The Wild Ones. Soon after changing their name to Bon Jovi, the band was discovered and their eponymous debut album was released in 1984 with the hit single "Runaway".
