Who was the inventor of harpsichord?

There is no definitive information regarding the inventor of the harpsichord. The earliest known harpsichords were made in Italy during the 14th and 15th centuries, with one example (now known as the Ottaway Harpsichord) believed to have been made by the Venetian maker "Dominicus Pisaurensis". However, it's generally agreed that the instrument evolved gradually from earlier keyboard instruments such as the clavichord and the monochord.
