Did anyone in the grateful dead play saxophone?

The saxophone was not traditionally a part of the instrumentation used by the Grateful Dead during their existence from 1965 to 1995. The band's musical approach focused on a combination of lead and rhythm guitars, keyboards, drum set, and bass guitar. While they occasionally brought in additional musicians or collaborated with various artists, a dedicated saxophone player was not a typical feature in their lineup.
