* Medium screwdriver
* Small flathead screwdriver or butter knife
* Key to lift out the music stand
Step 1: Remove the music stand
- On either side of the music stand, there are 2 small black screws.
Lift the bottom left cover and locate screws.
- Gently pry a gap open under the black screws and insert the flathead screwdriver and twist to pop out the screws.
- Once these screws are removed, lift up the music stand to take it out of the piano.
- With your key, push the locking pins on the sides towards the outside of the piano to release the music stand.
- Pull out the music stand.
Step 2: Remove the bottom keyboard cover
- Open the keyboard cover.
- On either side of the piano, just above the keys, you will see a strip of black plastic.
- Pull up gently to remove this plastic strip and set aside.
- Open the keyboard further to see the screws holding the bottom keyboard cover.
- Use a medium screwdriver to unscrew the 4 screws and remove them.
- Lift up the bottom keyboard cover and remove it from the piano.
- On some Roland pianos, the bottom keyboard cover won’t lift up. Instead, you will have to slide it out from the left side.
Step 3: Slide out the top keyboard cover
- Close the keyboard cover almost completely.
- Slide your hand behind the keyboard cover in the gap above the keys and push forward.
- The keyboard cover will slide forward approximately 2 inches.
- Grab the keyboard cover and pull up to remove it from the piano.
Step 4: Remove the inner board
- Remove the 5 or 6 screws that secure the inner board.
- Remove the inner board.
Step 5: Remove the upper keyboard cover
- With the inner board removed, you will be able to see 2 screws that secure the upper keyboard cover.
- Remove the screws and the cover will lift up.
- Set the upper keyboard cover aside.
