How do you play middle c on the cello?

Middle C on the cello is played with the third finger of the left hand on the A string. The finger should be placed approximately halfway between the nut and the fingerboard. The right-hand technique is the same as that used to play any note on the cello, with the bow drawn across the string in a smooth motion.
