Is it possible to use a viola play like an ukulele?

It is possible to play a viola like a ukulele, but it would require some modifications to the instrument. The viola is typically tuned in fifths, while the ukulele is tuned in fourths. This means that the strings on a viola would need to be re-tuned in order to play it like a ukulele. Additionally, the viola's neck is longer than that of a ukulele, so the player would need to adjust their hand position accordingly.

Some other modifications that could be made to the viola to make it more ukulele-like include:

* Adding a capo to the neck to shorten the strings and make them easier to play

* Using a different type of string with a lower tension to make the instrument easier to play

* Adjusting the bridge to change the intonation of the instrument

* Adding a pickup to the instrument so that it can be amplified

Once these modifications have been made, it is possible to play the viola like a ukulele. However, it is important to note that the viola is a different instrument than the ukulele, and it will not sound exactly the same.
