1. Gather your materials:
- A thin, strong piece of plastic, such as a sheet protector.
- Drinking straw.
- Pair of scissors.
- Rubber band.
2. Cut the plastic into a rectangular shape that is about 10 inches long and 5 inches wide.
3. Fold the plastic in half lengthwise, so that the long sides are touching each other.
4. Cut a small hole in the center of the folded edge.
5. Cut a small hole on each side of the center hole, about 1 inch apart.
6. Cut the straw in half.
7. Insert one half of the straw into the center hole.
8. Insert the other half of the straw into one of the side holes.
9. Secure the straws with the rubber band.
10. Blow into the straw that is inserted into the side hole.
You should hear a sound similar to a flute.
11. Adjust the position of the straw inserted into the side hole until you find a sound that you like.
12. Use your hands to cover and uncover the holes to create melodies and songs.
