Can you play the trumpet with a permanent retainer?

It is generally not recommended to play the trumpet with a permanent retainer as it may affect the way the embouchure is formed and can cause discomfort or even damage to the teeth. The retainer can interfere with the correct placement of the lips and embouchure on the mouthpiece, affecting the sound production and causing potential injuries to the lips and jaw.
