What is a conga drum?

A conga drum is a single headed, barrel shaped drum originally from Cuba. They are traditionally played with the hands, and come in different sizes typically producing high, middle and low pitches, known as quinto, tres, and tumba respectively. Conga drums are widely used in Latin music and are an integral part of various musical genres, including salsa, son, cumbia, and rumba.
