What happened after the baroque period?

After the Baroque period came the Rococo period. The Rococo period was a highly ornamental and decorative style of art that emerged in France in the early 18th century. It was a reaction to the heavy and grandiose Baroque style, and was characterized by its light, graceful, and playful forms. The Rococo style was popular in France, Germany, and Austria, and was eventually replaced by the Neoclassical style in the late 18th century.
