When was log drum invented?

Log drums have existed for thousands of years and are found in various cultures worldwide, particularly in Africa and Asia. Their origins are difficult to pinpoint, but archaeological evidence suggests that log drums date back to the Neolithic period. One of the earliest known examples is the Bronze Age log drum found in the Hubei Province of China, which dates back to 2000-1500 BC. Log drums were also found in ancient African civilizations, with carvings depicting log drums dating back to the 10th century in Zimbabwe. Over time, log drums have evolved and diversified, with different regions developing unique styles and variations.
