Parts of a Clarinet

1. Mouthpiece: Contains reed.

2. Ligature: Secures the reed.

3. Barrel: Connects upper joint to the mouthpiece.

4. Top Joint (upper joint): Has the first five tone holes

5. Bottom Joint (Lower Joint): Extends instrument to 7 notes

6. Bell: Extends clarinet in length

7. Key mechanism: Keys (usually in silver/nickel-silver), rods, screws hold pads that cover and uncover tone holes to enable a specific key to play.
