It's a short drive from Indio over to the Palm Springs area, where there are several high-end hotels willing to pamper you in between sets from your favorite performers. In Rancho Mirage, the Aqua Caliente Casino, Resort and Spa has 42-inch televisions in every room and a pool with a poolside bar. Hotel Zoso, in downtown Palm Springs, is a boutique hotel offering everything from Asian and California fusion cuisine to the occasional palm reading. Even closer to Indio is La Quinta Resort and Club, which has five golf courses and a variety of tennis courts.
With so much going on at Stagecoach, there might not be much reason to spend time in your hotel room. If you can forgo some comforts of home, a midrange hotel like the Holiday Inn Express in Indio might be appropriate. The Residence Inn by Marriott at Palm Desert is perfectly acceptable, while the Fantasy Springs Resort Casino is one of the closest hotels to Indio itself. The latter is like an off-Strip Vegas property, while the former is especially well-maintained for a chain hotel.
Do you need just a roof and a bed? Are you traveling on a tight budget? Some of the hotels in Indio are hit-and-miss, but they'll at least provide a bit of shelter. The Best Western Date Tree and the Travelodge might be good choices. Beware, though: The town of Indio has a rough side, and many low-end hotels are hubs of criminal activity. Going with a national chain gives you a better chance of enjoying your stay.
