Jamaica Jazz Festival

Each January, the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival features local and internationally-reknowned music artists in a week-long music production. In addition to jazz, other music genres are represented including blues, reggae, R&B, Latin and soul. Performers at previous festivals include John Legend, Alicia Keys, Gladys Knight and Billy Ocean.
  1. Time Frame

    • The show begins around 4 p.m. each day. Visitors should remember that island time isn't strict and plan accordingly.

    History

    • The first festival occurred in 1996 and hosted about 1,500 people. Attendance has grown to more than 25,000 participants.

    Sponsors

    • Air Jamaica is the main sponsor of the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival. Additional sponsors include the Jamaica Tourist Board and other local businesses.

    • Enjoy the culture of Jamaica along with the music. The Jamaican Jazz Festival features regional cuisine, local arts and crafts, and the interesting local flavors add to the experience. During the day, relax on the beautiful nearby beaches, swim with the dolphins or investigate the local waterfalls.
