As its name suggests, 102.7 FM is a cooperative-owned, non-commercial, listener-supported radio station. With over 400 volunteer programmers, 102.7 carries 24 hour-a-day programming in the arts, public affairs and music. Eighty percent of its programming is in English.
103.5 QM/FM bills itself as "Vancouver's choice for today's top rock." Their playlist includes Coldplay, Norah Jones, The Fray, Avril Lavigne, Pink, ABBA, Madonna, Celine Dion and Nickelback. In addition to a listener's club, QM/FM sponsors contests, and is a division of CTVglobemedia.
99.3 is "the Fox" in Vancouver and "The Fox Rocks" according to their website. Guns N' Roses, Pearl Jam, Nine Inch Nails, Alice in Chains, Rage Against the Machine and Ozzy Osbourne are on their playlist. The Fox sponsors concerts, has contests for listeners and sponsors a hockey team that raises funds for the British Columbia Children's Hospital Oncology Unit. 99.3 is owned by Corus Radio.
95.3 FM is part of the Astral family of Canadian radio and television stations. It is known as "Virgin Radio" and plays American Top 40, iTunes top 20, and Virgin music featuring Canadian talent. Rock 101 FM is Vancouver's classic rock station. Weekdays from 7:00 pm to midnight they have Nights with Alice Cooper scheduled; Mondays from midnight to 2:00 am features two hours of classic garage rock. JRfm 93.7 is Vancouver's country music station. The station's top-thirty playlist includes Brad Paisley, Reba McEntire, Carrie Underwood, Lady Antebellum, George Strait, Toby Keith and Tim McGraw.
