How do you read a triplet in music?
A triplet is a group of three equal notes that are played in the time of two of the same notes. To read a triplet, divide the meter of the piece by three and then play three notes of that value in the same amount of time as two of the original notes. For example, if the piece is in 4/4 time, each beat is equal to a quarter note, and a triplet would consist of three eighth notes played in the same amount of time as two quarter notes.
