* New strings (for a 6-string guitar, you'll need 6 strings)
* String winder
* Wire cutters
* Tuning fork or digital tuner
Instructions:
Step 1: Remove the old strings
1. Use the string winder to loosen the strings one by one.
2. Once the strings are loose, use your fingers to pull them off of the tuning pegs.
3. If the strings are still stuck, you can use the wire cutters to carefully clip them off.
Step 2: Attach the new strings
1. Take one of the new strings and insert the end into the hole in the tuning peg.
2. Pull the string through the hole and wrap it around the peg twice.
3. Start tightening the string by turning the tuning peg clockwise until the string is taut.
4. Repeat steps 1-3 for the remaining strings, winding each string in the same direction (clockwise).
Step 3: Tune the guitar
1. Once all the strings are in place, use the tuning fork or digital tuner to tune each string to the appropriate note.
2. Tune the 6th string (A) to the A note, the 5th string (D) to the D note, the 4th string (G) to the G note, the 3rd string (B) to the B note, the 2nd string (E) to the E note, and the 1st string (high E) to the E note.
3. Fine-tune the tuning of each string by adjusting the tuning peg until the note is perfectly in tune.
Step 4: Stretch the strings
1. After you've tuned the guitar once, gently stretch each string by pulling it up and down with your fingers.
2. This will help to set the strings in place and prevent them from slipping out of tune.
3. Repeat steps 4 & 5 until the guitar stays in tune.
Step 5: Enjoy playing your guitar!
