Lay out a length of paper that will fit all of the days associated with the event. Decide the length of the timeline. For example, you might document the first 30-days after you quit smoking. The timeline begins the first day and ends on the 30th. Each day has its own entry. If no information exists for that day, skip it.
Organize your notes and information in chronological order.
Draw a line from left to right on the paper along the length of the paper.
Mark the beginning with a vertical line on the left side of the paper through the horizontal line you already drew. Write the date above it. Draw a line away from it into a box. Write the detail for that day.
Draw a second line and date it to the right of the original line. Write the details of the day in a box on the bottom half of the paper with a line attaching it to the date. Repeat for each subsequent day.
