How to Connect a Phantom Power Adapter to a Mixer

If the mixer you are using does not have phantom power built in, knowing how to connect a phantom power adapter to a mixer is a necessity if you wish to use a condenser microphone. This is because condenser microphones require phantom power in order to operate. Without it, a condenser microphone is useless.

  • 2 XLR cables
  • Condenser microphone
  • Phantom power Aaapter
  • Mixer

Instructions

      Connect one XLR cable to your condenser microphone. Then plug the other end of that cable into the “MIC INPUT” of the phantom power adapter.

      Take the other XLR cable and plug it into the “MIC THRU” output of the phantom power adapter. Then plug the other end of this XLR cable into one of the inputs on your mixer.

      Plug the DC power cord of the phantom power adapter in and the LED will light up showing that the phantom power is on. You have now successfully connected a phantom power adapter to a mixer.
