The EAW KF750F is a three-way speaker with four drivers. EAW builds it with two 12-inch woofers, a 10-inch horn loaded cone for mid-range and a two-inch horn loaded compression driver for high frequencies. Each driver can be separately amplified in a quad-amp configuration, or the two woofers can share an amplifier for a tri-amp configuration.
EAW rates the KF750F to perform within three decibels of perfectly flat response from 48 to 18,000 hertz. Although it offers additional bass response, the speaker reaches a sound level that is 10 decibels below flat at a frequency of 30 hertz.
The KF750's high frequency driver can handle 200 watts while the midrange driver handles 400 watts. The woofers can either have 600 watts each or 1,200 watts together. Every one of the speaker's subsystems presents a nominal 8 ohm impedance load to the amplifier.
With a one-watt input measured from one meter away, the KF750F produces 103 decibels of low frequency sound, 109 decibels of midrange sound and 116 decibels of high frequency sound. It can produce peak sound levels of 139.8, 141 and 145 decibels in the bass, midrange and high frequencies, and can sustain sound levels of 133.8, 135 and 139 decibels, respectively.
Although relatively small compared to other speakers in its class, the KF750F is nevertheless quite heavy, weighing in at 190 pounds. Its trapezoidal cabinet is 31 inches tall and 34 inches deep. The sides of the speaker tilt in at a 15-degree angle, leading to a front width of 27 inches and a rear width of eight inches.
