The actual Nokia Theatre can seat 7,100. The impressive venue offers 4,340 seats in the orchestra section, 1,516 seats at the lodge level and 1,244 seats at the mezzanine level. The theatre also boasts 12 luxury boxes and 250 luxury seats. The theatre was designed so that no seat is situated farther than 220 feet from the stage, allowing for the best possible experience no matter where you sit.
The Nokia Theatre hosts a variety of concerts and events in the venue, from pop stars to children's theatre. But you may know the Nokia Theatre from some of its more famous events. The theatre has hosted the ESPY Awards since 2008 and holds an exclusive deal with the Primetime Emmy Awards to host the awards from 2008 to 2018. The theatre was also home to the American Music Awards in 2007 and hosted the "American Idol" finales in seasons seven, eight, nine and 10 of the show.
The first act to ever hold a concert in the Nokia Theatre was the Eagles musical group, with special guests The Dixie Chicks in 2007. Since then, notable acts, such as Tori Amos, Kanye West, Kings of Leon, Carrie Underwood, Neil Young and Sugarland have performed on the famed Nokia Theater stage. John Mayer also recorded his famous live album, "Where the Light Is: John Mayer Live in Los Angeles" on the Nokia stage. While the theatre is often thought of for concerts, children's shows and concerts, such as The Wiggles and "Yo Gabba Gabba," have also found a home on the stage.
Along with the 7,100 seats of the Nokia Theatre, the L.A. Live complex offers Club Nokia -- which seats 2,200 additional people -- restaurants, bowling alleys, a movie theater, a hotel and premiere apartments. Altogether, the complex, which is adjacent the Staples Center, is 5.6 million square feet in size, making it a massive and all-encompassing entertainment hub for the city.
