DTE Energy Music Theatre Information

The DTE Energy Music Theatre is an outdoor amphitheater located in Clarkston, Michigan, owned and operated by Palace Sports and Entertainment. It was formerly called Pine Knob Music Theatre, and is still often referred to by this name. It was renamed in 2002 when DTE Energy bought the naming rights. It is among the highest-selling outdoor concert locations in the United States.
  1. Function

    • DTE Energy Music Theatre is open from May until September each year, and holds an average of 70 to 80 events per summer. It draws a wide variety of artists, including rock, metal and oldies bands.

    Features

    • There are more than 135 concession locations at the venue. Guests can also rent lawn chairs, or buy blankets, umbrellas, rain ponchos and other common concert merchandise.

    Policies

    • Tailgating is allowed. Guests may bring food in non-glass containers, short-legged beach/lawn chairs and blankets into the venue. No alcohol, other beverages, glass containers or video cameras are allowed.

    Size

    • DTE Energy Music Theatre features both lawn and pavilion seating, seating a total of approximately 15,270. Lawn seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis, and doors typically open around 5 p.m. or 2 1/2 hours before a matinee.

    Location

    • DTE Energy Music Theatre is located off I-75 at 7774 Sashabaw Road. There are two entrances off Sashabaw Road north of I-75 and one off of Pine Knob Road.
