The Johanna Favrot Fund for Historic Preservation makes grants available to historic theaters hoping to maintain their structures and make improvements. The program was started in honor of Johanna Favrot's eightieth birthday and seeks to encourage the appreciation of historical sites throughout the country. Available to both public and nonprofit organizations, the fund offers grants ranging from $2,500 to $10,000, though the amount awarded must be matched by the particular theater or location. Winners must also provide the fund with a document outlining expenditures within a year of receiving the grant. In order to apply, organizations must submit an application to their National Trust regional office, a listing of which can be found in the application packet itself.

Partnership-in-Scholarship Grants for African American Historic Places seek to preserve important historic and cultural places relevant to the lives of African Americans. Grants of up to $5,000 are provided to fund projects that will encourage a new generation of people to explore the historical significance of a particular place. To be eligible, organizations must not only be able to match the funds they are given, but they must also collaborate with a local college or university. The goal of this partnership would be to strengthen cultural understanding and help to attract more people to the location. Grants are not intended to pay for operational costs, capital improvements or other expenditures not directly related to teaching.
