While it sounds basic, make sure to insert a CD to your computer.
The computer will determine if your CD is usable. If it is, you will see an Untitled CD icon appear on your Desktop.
At this point you can take one of two methods of burning a CD—creating a burn folder or copying files directly to the CD. If you are in a job or completing a task where keeping a record of your burn is necessary, then you should create a burn folder. Otherwise, you can just drag directly to the CD.
To create a burn folder, go to the File Menu and select New Burn Folder. You will be able to assign a name to the folder. Burn folders can be distinguished from their non-burn counterparts by the nuclear symbol on the icon.
To add items to the folder, simply drag files to it. Your Mac will copy those files to the burn folder and leave the originals where you had originally stored them.
When you are ready to burn, click the burn button. This will reveal a burn options dialog box, which will ask you for a burning speed and a name for the folder. Once you have chosen both, you can click the Burn button to starting the process.
Adding items to the CD is as easy as dragging items to it. You can either drag them from their location to the CD icon on your desktop or from the folders menu. The CD will appear in the locations list on the left side.
When you have moved all of your files, you can either click the nuclear symbol in the list on the left side or the burn button towards the top of the window.
