How to Find Music URLs

Webopedia defines URL ("Uniform Resource Locater") as "the address of documents and other resources on the World Wide Web." Finding URLs for music you can listen to for free can be a lengthy process because many websites have hidden fees. Visiting unknown URLs can put your computer at risk with security problems, so be sure your virus and spam protection are activated.

      Type in the URL for Imeem where you can "share, discover and play music for free." Click the option to "sign up." Enter a valid email address and password to create an account. The information is secure and there's no charge to listen to music. You can find artists and song names by typing them in the top right-hand corner.

      Type in the URL for Pandora. The site refers to itself as "the Music Genome Project" and will build a list of artists and songs based on the music you choose to listen to.
      Select "create an account" and enter a band or artist name. Add artists to the account to vary the playlist. There are no fees for the basic account.

      Keep the basic accounts and pay no fees. You can access an unlimited number of songs and bypass commercial interruptions by upgrading your accounts, which requires you to pay fees. Pandora offers a limitless service for $36 per year.
