Connect the electric guitar to the multi-track pedal by attaching one end of the cable to the output jack of the guitar and connecting the other end of the cable to the pedal's input. Repeat this process with the remaining cable by connecting one end to the amp's output, the other end to the pedal's input (the pedal will have two inputs for this reason). This will link all three devices and enable the multi-track pedal. Plug the amplifier into a power source (wall outlet or power strip), and turn the amp to the "on" position.
Practice the music to be sampled by using a electric guitar. Press the "Record" button on the multi-track, playing a particular section of music, playing it back to test its recorded quality. If more layers of sound are desirable in the music being created, simply push "select track" to shift to one of the multi-track's empty files (a quality recorder will have four), and set the pedal to record using the previously outlined step.
Record each musical part using a multi-track recorder, switching to an empty track (maximum four) after each part has been played satisfactorily. Select the "loop" feature located at the bottom left of the pedal to set the music on a constant playback, thus creating a "musical instrument sample." Once the sample has been created, it can then be uploaded from the multi-track recorder to a personal computer.
To transfer audio files from the multi-track recorder to a personal computer, insert the USB cable into the USB jack located next to the multi-track pedal's CF card on the right side. Connect to the other end to the personal computer. The computer will then be able to download the files present on the pedal's CF card by detecting the new hardware automatically. Place a blank CD in the computer's CD-ROM bay. Select "burn new CD" by right clicking on the CD. Make sure the CD is properly formatted before attempting to burn the audio files onto the CD to ensure optimal playability.
