Converting purchased songs in iTunes to MP3 is a very simple process with the help of the iTunes MP3 encoder. Simply set the "Import Using" encoder to MP3, highlight the purchased songs you would like to convert to MP3 and click "Create MP3 Version." After you've converted the iTunes songs to MP3, you'll be able to burn MP3 CDs, upload the MP3s to an MP3 player or play back the MP3s with audio programs other than iTunes.

      Open iTunes.
