Register for an account with an Internet radio network with such networks as Ubroadcast.com, Live365 and Shoutcast.com (see Resources). Look for a link, button or tab on the home page labeled "Broadcast" to sign up as a radio broadcaster instead of a listener. This link will have different names, depending on the website.
Choose a broadcasting package. Some sites offer a selection of packages with prices that vary based on the bandwidth and the number of people who can listen to your broadcast. You can broadcast to audiences as small as 2 listeners or as large as 2000 and even more.
Make a payment. Payment for the broadcasting package is usually on a monthly basis. You can pay with a credit or debit card and some websites accept Paypal.
Download the website's software, if necessary. Some Internet radio networks offer software that radio show hosts must use to broadcast their programs. The audience also needs it to listen to the broadcast.
Prepare your music. If you plan to play music on your station, it must be in an MP3 format. You can use programs such as WinAmp and iTunes to convert your non-MP3 music files (see Resources). Upload your music to the website.
Follow the directions to begin a radio broadcast. The software will include tools you can use to talk, if desired. Instructions on how to broadcast will vary based on the radio network and its application.
