How to Oil CD Players
All CD players should be sufficiently oiled and greased before you purchase them. Normally they will not require reoiling for the rest of their life. However, sometimes they aren't greased enough or the manufacturers forgot to oil them at all. In these cases, it essential to open the CD player and oil the respective parts yourself. Without proper oiling, your CD player could become irreparably damaged. To do this yourself is not recommended but it is possible with a little know-how.
- Philips screwdriver
- Electronic-safe lubricant
- Cloth or cotton swab
