Instructions

  1. Burning an Audio CD

    • 1

Write MP3 files to CD by burning them to an audio CD. To do this, you can use a program such as Windows Media Player, which is installed on all Windows computers. An audio CD can typically hold up to 80 minutes of audio and is compatible in most CD players, computers and DVD players. However, burning MP3 files to an audio CD will hold fewer MP3 files than the other methods.

    • 2

Open Windows Media Player and click "Burn."

    • 3

Drag and drop the MP3 files you want to write to CD into the "Burn List" located on the right side of the "Burn" tab of Windows Media Player.

    • 4

Put a blank CD-R (recordable CD) into your computer when you have finished adding the MP3 files you want to write to the CD.

    • 5

Click the "Start Burn" button. When the burning process is complete, eject the CD from your computer.

    Burning an MP3 CD

    • 6

Write MP3 files to CD by burning them to a MP3 CD. To do this, you can use a program such as iTunes, which can be downloaded and installed for free on your computer (see Resources). An MP3 CD can hold as many MP3s as the capacity of the CD. However, MP3 CDs can only be played in MP3 CD compatible devices.

    • 7

Open iTunes and create a new playlist by clicking "File" and selecting "New Playlist."

    • 8

Name the new playlist that appears and drag and drop the MP3 files you want to write to the CD into the playlist.

    • 9

Highlight the new playlist and click the "Burn Disc" button.

    • 10
