How to Put Effects Skins on Virtual DJ 5.2

Virtual DJ is a software program that emulates the functions of a full DJ turntable setup. The software is used by many amateur DJs as well as some professional ones. The program features many opportunities for customization, such as "Skins." Skins allow the user to select the look of the program's interface. Selecting one skin may hide certain program elements while displaying other ones. The idea is that some users using certain program features will require a different look and feel.

Instructions

    • 1

Open Virtual DJ. Click "Start Menu," "Program Files," "Virtual DJ" and open the program.

    • 2

Click the "Configure" menu on the top right of the software. Then click "Skin." After the program has loaded clicking "Configure" will bring up the "Settings" menu. Do not be confused -- it is called the "Configure" menu in the main screen but the window that opens when it is clicked is labeled "Settings." Once that window opens click the "Skin" tab.

    • 3

Select a "Skin." The program comes with four "Skin" configurations. "VirtualDJ: Basic" is the main default skin and has minimum basic functions. "VirtualDJ: Full" is a skin that displays all of the program's components and functions. "VirtualDJ: Full Video" features the "Full" menu plus an added section for mixing video. "VirtualDJ: Internal Mixer" features "Full" controls plus an expanded internal mixer. Select one of the "Skins" listed and click "OK." The skin will now be applied to the program and can be changed just as easily.
