How to Make Latex Bubble Special Effects Makeup

Whether you're suiting up for a play or Halloween, latex special-effects makeup is a professional way to transform your skin into any consistency. If you would like to create the appearance of bubbly burns on your skin, latex makeup is the answer. Using latex makeup on your skin can cause blemishes and clogged pores if your skin is sensitive; always test a patch on the skin under your arm 24 hours before applying latex to your face.

Instructions

    • 1

Apply a thin layer of liquid latex makeup the same tone as your skin over your entire face--or the section where you want the effect.

    • 2

Allow the liquid latex to dry for approximately 10 minutes. Apply drips of red and tan latex makeup over the dried latex area.

    • 3

Allow the drips to dry for at least 10 minutes. Apply more drops over the already-formed drops to make them look like blemishes. Continue to build on the drops to make them bubble like burns or blemishes. Let the drops dry thoroughly.

    • 4

Add liquid glycerin to the center of the bumps to create an oozing effect. Blend the areas around the latex with translucent face powder to blend with the skin.
