Set up your locators by clicking the "Set Locators" button and placing your "Start" and "End" locator arrows to your desired placement on the time line. This may include the start and end of a chorus or other section. Click "Region" then "Cut/Insert Time" and then "Snip: Cut Section Between Locators" to remove and copy all of the space between your "Start" and "End" locators. You can then move your cut section to a new location by selecting "Edit" then "Paste".
Drag your two locator arrows along the time line and place them over a section that you would like to fill with silence. Then click "Region," "Cut/Insert Time" and "Insert Silence Between Locators" to suppress the audio between your start and end points. This allows you to mute a selected section without having to delete the recording.
Your playhead resembles a down-pointing arrow and appears on your time line. It follows your recorded audio waveforms in real time during playback, and you can place it anywhere on the time line by dragging with your mouse. Click "Region" then "Cut/Insert Time" and click "Splice: Insert Snipped Section at Playhead" to paste a copied section wherever your playhead currently appears on the time line. For example, if you used the process in Step 1 to cut a particular section, you can use this process to paste it in a new location.
Drag your "Start" and "End" locator arrows to any section that you would like to repeat. For example, if you want to repeat the chorus of a song to create an extended chorus, drag the arrows to the beginning and end of the chorus and select "Region" then "Cut/Insert Time" and click "Repeat Section Between Locators". Your selected section will then repeat itself.
Click the down-pointing arrow to the right of your time line, near the upper-right corner of your screen, to select your time line view. You can choose between "Bar," which shows your beats in a linear format; "Time," which displays your time in seconds; or "Time and Bar" or "Bar and Time," to see both measurements displayed on your time line.
When viewing your seconds or beats on the time line, you can zoom in or out to stretch your time line spacing according to your desired specifications. Just click the small horizontal scroll bar in the lower right corner of your "Arrange" window and drag the bar to the left or right.
