Like Scratch Live, Traktor Pro is optimized for use with Native Instruments' Kontrol X1 and Maschine. These devices function as equalizers and MIDI controllers which can be used to edit the sonic characteristics of your mix as well as to insert loops or other programmed samples into the live playback. Ableton Live is unique among the DJ software packages available in that it does not utilize digital models of traditional DJ equipment. DJs using Ableton in live performance load small melodic and rhythmic motives into the software and arrange them in whatever order they desire during their live show.
