How to Change Latency Cubase Samples

Cubase, known worldwide by music producers, has become the most popular and one of the most cost-effective pieces of software for composing, recording and mixing music. Producers trust Cubase for its heavy toolbox of features and cross-platform compatibility. Like any complex software application, problems inevitably occur, such as latency, the time it takes sound to travel from the source to your ears. While the program accommodates for recording latency, monitoring is a different story. You can combat latency problems in Cubase by choosing from a couple of options.

Instructions

  1. ASIO Direct Monitoring

    • 1

Open the "Direct Monitoring" panel by clicking on the "Devices" menu and selecting "Device Setup."

    • 2

      Click on "VST Audiobay."

    • 3

Check the "Direct Monitoring" box. If this option is gray, it means your audio hardware or driver doesn't support ASIO Direct Monitoring. If so, go to Section 2 for a workaround.

    Offset Value

    • 4

Open the "VST System Link" panel by clicking on the "Device" menu and selecting "Device Setup."

    • 5

Choose the "VST System Link device" from the "VST Audiobay" subpage.

    • 6

Click on the "Offset" box. Type in a number or click on the up or down arrows to change the offset value.
