How to Get Your Mixtape to DVD

In the modern world, mix tapes on cassettes have quickly become a thing of the past. Yet, many people still have mix tapes full of music that they wish they could play without having to bust out their outdated cassette players. To convert mix tapes into MP3s to put onto DVDs, all it takes is the right piece of recording equipment and some computer software, mixed with a little bit of patience.

Things You'll Need

  • Computer with a Mac or Windows operating system
  • Cassette2USB Converter with recording software
  • Blank DVDs
  • DVD burning software

Instructions

  1. Mix Tape Digital Conversion and DVD Burning

      Insert the mix tape cassette and connect the converter to the computer. Open the Cassette2USB Converter. Then insert the cassette and connect the device to the computer via USB port.

      Rewind the cassette. If the mix tape is not completely rewound, press the rewind button until it reaches the beginning of the cassette.

      Install and activate the conversion software. Turn the computer on and install the conversion software program that came with the Cassette2USB converter. Once the installation is complete, open up the program to activate it.

      Press play and record the audio to your computer. Simultaneously, press the play button on the Cassette2USB Converter, and the record button within the conversion software program. The audio will automatically convert to a MP3 file and be saved onto the computer's hard drive.

      Import the MP3 file into the DVD-burning software and burn it to a blank DVD. Open the DVD-burning software and select the "data DVD" option. Then import the recorded MP3 file and insert a blank DVD. Once the computer has recognized the blank DVD, press the "burn to disc" option to complete the process.

      After the burning process is complete, you can now enjoy the audio through any device that plays DVDs.
