Why were some popular musicians attacked by fans?

1. John Lennon (The Beatles)

- Attacked by Mark David Chapman on December 8, 1980 shortly before 11 p.m EST as he was entering the Dakota, his Manhattan apartment building.

- Chapman shot Lennon four times in the back and once in the shoulder; he died shortly after arrival to the Roosevelt Hospital.

2. Christina Grimmie (The Voice)

- Shot dead on June 10, 2016 after her concert in Orlando by Kevin James Loibl, a 27-year-old man from St. Petersburg, Florida.

- Loibl fatally shot Grimmie in the head at point-blank range after attacking her brother Marcus, who tackled him immediately afterward.

3. Bob Marley

- On 3 December 1976, two days before "Smile Jamaica," a free concert that was planned in order to improve the political climate in Jamaica, an unknown assailant entered Marley's home and shot him, his wife Rita, and his manager Don Taylor.

4. Tupac Shakur

- On 7 September 1996, Shakur was shot multiple times in a drive-by shooting in Las Vegas, Nevada; he died six days later.

- The shooting occurred at a four-way stop at the intersection of East Flamingo Road and Koval Lane while Shakur was en route to the Club 662.

5. Justin Bieber

- In 2017, Bieber was punched by a fan onstage while performing in Barcelona. The incident occurred during his "Purpose" tour, when a male fan ran on stage and landed on top of Bieber.

- Security quickly intervened, and Bieber appeared visibly surprised but unhurt.
