What motivated Amy Lee in making her band?

Evanescence was formed by guitarist Ben Moody and Amy Lee in Little Rock, Arkansas in late 1995, the pair having met at a youth camp three years earlier.[2] Moody was initially drawn to Lee's piano playing and her ethereal voice.[2] Lee felt similarly moved when Moody played a live performance at camp.[3]
