How to Create a Pedal Board

It's important to keep your effects pedals right where you need them during a gig, protect them during transit and get the necessary power to the pedals as well. That is why a pedal board is the most convenient storage, transportation and gig set up tool a guitar player has. Here is how to create a personalized pedal board so that your effects pedals are right where you need them.

Things You'll Need

Instructions

    • 1

Select a pedal board case that is sturdy, wide and deep enough to store all your pedals, plus some extra room for another pedal or two.

    • 2

Cut a board to fit inside the case with a wedge on either side to create about a 20 to 30-degree angle on the board.

    • 3

Cover the board with black loop fabric available at your local fabric store. If the case is not already lined with 1.5-inch textured foam, pick some of that up as well and glue it to the inside of the pedal case.

    • 4

Attach adhesive velcro hook strips to each one of your pedals. Be sure you have access to the battery cover.

    • 5

Move your pedals around until you are comfortable with the configuration. Because you completely cover the board with fabric, you are free to move the pedals up, down and sideways to fit your mood.
