Matt Bellamy (born Matthew James Bellamy on June 9, 1977) is an English musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He is best known as the lead vocalist, guitarist, and primary songwriter for the rock band Muse.

Bellamy was born in Cambridge, England, and began playing the piano at the age of six. He later took up guitar and bass, and was influenced by a wide range of music, including classical, jazz, rock, and electronic.

Bellamy formed Muse with drummer Dominic Howard and bassist Chris Wolstenholme in 1994. The band released their debut album, Showbiz, in 1999, and have since gone on to release seven more studio albums, all of which have been met with critical and commercial success.
