How to Mix Down a Recording From Mixcraft

Once you've recorded a song in Acoustica's Windows-based Mixcraft audio workstation, you'll need to mix it down. Mixing down the recording combines all of the audio tracks into one or two (stereo), then renders the combined tracks into a compressed format and saves it to your hard drive. You can then burn the recording to CD, attach it to an email or upload it to an online music-streaming website. Mixcraft can mix down audio recordings to WAV, MP3, WMA and OGG formats.

Instructions

    • 1

Launch Mixcraft and open the project that you want to mix down. Adjust each track's volume and pan settings by moving the sliders located next to the track names.

    • 2

Click the "FX" button next to a track's name to add effects to the track. Select any desired effects, which might include a compressor, EQ and reverb, from the "Effect" drop-down menu. Choose a preset for each effect from the "Preset" menu, or click the "Edit" button to customize the settings. Repeat the process for every track.

    • 3

Click "File," then "Mix Down To." Click on the desired audio format. A new dialog box opens.

    • 4

Type a file name into the "File Name" box. Click "Save" to mix the recording down to the specified format.
