Begin the evening by having each guest fill out a small questionnaire that includes information such as their name, age, profession, hobbies and what they are looking for in a partner. Place all of the questionnaires in two hats, separating the men from the women, and randomly select the contestants and potential dates. You should have three potential dates to each contestant.
Introduce the contestant or contestants. If playing this game at a party or as a speed dating adaptation, you may choose two or more contestants depending on your number of guests, with an even number of guys and gals.
Invite the first contestant to sit and begin to ask them about themselves, recapping their questionnaire. Next, introduce the three potential dates, again, reviewing their questionnaires.
Allow the other guests to take part, voting for which of the three potential dates they believe may be a love connection for the contestant. The contestant now has the option to go with the audience's choice, even though these results are not revealed to them, or to choose their own date.
Send the lucky couple out on a date. This is where the creative speed dating takes place, so you should have a separate room set up, maybe with wine and candles, and allow the couple to chat for a few minutes, getting to know one another. While they are on their "date," you can introduce the next contestant.
Following the speed date, invite the lucky couple to discuss the events of their speed date. After hearing all of the details, recap the three potential dates originally offered and reveal the guest's results to the contestant.
Offer the contestant two options: they may go for another speed date with the guest's favorite, or call it good and join the other guests. If the contestant is lucky, they will have enjoyed the brief speed date and maybe have made a love connection. If the contestant is extremely lucky, the guests will have picked their selected date, and they can go for a second speed date and play another round.
