Learn about the scientific pitch notation system. Each pitch in the system is given a number, an alphabetical note name and an accidental when applicable. In this system a C# in the middle of the treble clef staff would be written as C#5.
Identify where C2 falls in the staff system. C2 is two octaves lower than middle C and written in the bass clef. It appears on the second ledger line below the staff.
Determine whether your instrument is capable of playing C2. Locate a fingering chart and a list of notes possible on your instrument. Use the fingering chart to learn how to play C2 if it is available on your instrument.
Practice playing the note and memorize the fingering. This applies to guitar, violin, tuba and any other instrument. On piano, C2 is the white key two octaves below middle C to the left of the two black keys.
