List of X-Men Evolution Characters

The X-Men are among the most well known comic book characters around, thanks in no small measure to the television series and movies created about them. The TV series "X-Men Evolution" takes a different approach with the well=known characters, showing them at a much earlier time in their development. In a sense it is a reboot, similar to the second Hulk movie or Batman Returns. But while the characters themselves are somewhat younger and less experienced versions of themselves, for the most part the show features the same ones as the movies and other series.
  1. Professor X

    • Professor Charles Xavier is the overall leader of the X-Men. Along with Magneto, he began the process of seeking out mutants with superpowers and bringing them together at his school for training and protection against the prejudices of others. Professor X is a psychic and telepath capable of reading minds, communicating psychically and controlling others. He is among the most powerful Marvel characters.

    Storm

    • Storm was one of the first mutants recruited by Professor X. Storm (as her name implies) has the ability to control all aspects of weather. At need, she can summon and use winds, rain, snow or lightning as weapons in battle. As one of the older “students” at the school, she often takes a lead role.

    Wolverine

    • Wolverine (also known as Logan) is the outsider of the X-men. He dislikes teamwork and feels free to take unilateral action without consulting anyone else. Wolverine's mutant powers make him unusually strong and agile. His senses are heightened, letting him see, hear or smell dangers before others. He possesses a powerful healing factor that allows him to completely and very quickly recover from almost any injury. In addition to his mutant powers, Wolverine has had his skeletal structure augmented with a nearly indestructible metal known as adamantium. He can at will extrude metallic claws from his hands for use in combat.

    Cyclops

    • Cyclops serves as team leader of the X-Men in the field. His mutation gives him the ability to project powerful energy blasts from his eyes. Unfortunately he is unable to control this ability, making him a danger to those around him. This is why he wears a visor designed to let him control this power, either restraining it or directing it.

    Jean Grey

    • Like the Professor, Jean Grey is a power psychic. She also has limited telekinetic abilities. On the surface she is one of the less powerful characters, but this is deceptive. This is because the Professor used his abilities to help Jean Grey suppress a darker more powerful version of herself known as the Phoenix. The Phoenix, which occasionally escapes, has almost unlimited power, posing a threat to the entire universe.
