The Big Comfy Couch was a show intended for children as young as two. Featuring an enthusiastic clown named Loonette, the show also included Loonette's doll, Molly. The title, The Big Comfy Couch, referred to a large green couch that Loonette and Molly played on. The show often focused on life lessons. In addition, Loonette and Molly played games during the episodes. These games were intended for toddlers, and parents can be easily recreate these games at home.
  1. The 10-second Tidy

    • At the end of each show, Loonette cleaned up the mess she made that day. The rules were to pick up the mess in no more than 10 seconds. While the seconds counted down, Loonette would quickly pick up and put away all of her toys. By playing this game, toddlers learn the importance of picking up after themselves. Discuss the time and explain what the big hand and the little hand mean. Then lie on the floor and demonstrate where the hands appear on the clock you just studied. Next, have the child lie on the floor and create the time.
