Purchase the equipment you will need to set up and maintain your Internet TV station. At a bare minimum, you will need a video streaming program, which compresses and downloads your video file in a particular order so it can be viewed immediately, as well as a webcam or digital video camera that connects to your computer. Other equipment might include microphones, sound mixers, lighting fixtures and audio/visual editing software.
Create the videos you want to stream using your equipment. It is not necessary to use a studio to create videos, especially if your Internet TV website is not intended to have serious content. However, shooting in a studio will give your Internet TV website a more professional appearance. Encode and save the video files for streaming with your streaming program.
Install and configure your video streaming software.
Find a web host capable of working with streaming video. Purchase space on the host server and register your domain name, for example, myvideo.com.
Find a website template that can support your videos, or have a website designer/programmer create one for you. A template is much cheaper (free in some cases) and will work as long as you can insert code to include an embedded video player. Working with a designer will give you more flexibility, however.
Upload the video files and your web pages to your host server. Check that all the uploaded files have links and that you have a list of all the uploaded videos on the homepage.
Publish your Internet TV website.
Create and upload new videos routinely to keep viewers returning to the site.
