Obtain your most recent cable provider's bill. This will have your account number and billing address.
Call the customer service number located on your cable bill.
Notify the cable customer representative that you would like to add HDTV or high-definition channels to your cable subscription service. You may be provided with several HDTV packages offering different high-definition channels.
Visit your cable service provider's website.
Click on the "Help" link.
Choose "High-Definition (HD) Service."
Choose from the available list of HD topics for answers to frequently asked questions. This can include what HD channels are available and how you can view the HD lineup and programming for your area.
Click on "Contact Us" at the bottom of the web page to send an e-mail to your cable service provider. Some providers also have a "Live Chat" option that connects you to a representative online and allows you to send and receive information in a "chat box" format.
